Welcome to FAPS !

The Federation of the Asian Polymer Societies was formed in 2007 to foster greater interactions between polymer scientists from various Asian countries together with experts from around the world. The first FAPS meeting was held in Japan and the second one in China. The Society of Polymer Science India (SPSI) is a founder member of FAPS and is the sponsor of the third FAPS meeting in Bangalore, India.

The SPSI holds a biannual national meeting that aims to bring together polymer scientists from across the country along with a large number of invitees from various countries across the world. The first such meeting was hosted in National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune, India in 1991; ever since such national meetings have been held every two years in different parts of the country. A large number of students and faculty from across the country attend these meetings, which has become a showcase for polymer research at the India.

In 2013, the National meeting of the SPSI will be held concurrently with the 3rd FAPS meeting; we expect wide participation from India, Asia and across the world. This meeting is also being sponsored by the Polymer Processing Academy, which formed in 2011 with the objective of bringing together researchers from academia, research organizations and industry to focus on the vital area of polymer processing.
